Coaching Article – Cycling Weekly

Very good article in today’s Cycling Weekly, about coaching, detailing rider’s experiences and costs. I must admit, the majority of this I agreed with. Especially the integrity of the coach, something I value very much indeed. And also coaching is an on going thing, with new techniques and skills to learn, it never stops. For example this year I’ve taken a track cycling course which cost nearly the best part of £400. Re-equipping with a new computer around £1,000 so I’ve invested a lot of money into the business. Which needs to be done to remain on top of things.

I must admit I was surprised at the costs quoted. Typically, the figure was about £1,200 per year, £100 per month. And example given was taking a cappuccino and a sandwich at work every day costing about £5.60 works out to just over £1,100.

From my angle my charges are very modest, £50 per month so half what is quoted, a bargain. But I must admit I may have to make a modest increase in the new year by about 10%. Food for thought.
