Boy didn’t it rain last night in the London area. Suspected the local lanes would be flooded and I wasn’t disappointed. Massive puddles all over the place. I decided to ride my MTB which weighs a ton, fitted with Marathon Plus tyres to ward off punctures. What with the wind and skirting around the puddles made for a slow ride, but nevertheless enjoyable.

As I failed to get a place for this event I noticed an advert in the Daily Telegraph. They were offering a place on their 6 man team (men and women) to be correct. You had to complete on line an application stating why you wanted to ride with them. So duly I completed this….
