Rory Mackay
A fine 6th place last night for coached rider Rory in the weekly Tuesday Hillingdon RR league in the 3/4 event. With some more fortune a win may have been secured, well done Rory

Good article in this months Rouleur magazine on this enigmatic rider who retired prematurely from pro racing at the ripe old age of 29. Winning the prestigous Tour of Flandes at a mere 22 years old and again 2 years late, he became disillusioned with the sports drug culture and called it a day. Amazing…
Power training- I’ve recently invested in Rotor power cranks on my race bike. It’s the only way to go if you really want to improve and takes the guess work out of training. With a power program and competent and challenging coach your riding will go to another level.

Over the festive season I’ve found it’s a good time to get out on the bike and enjoy the relative quite of the lanes. And also, to reflect on what you want to do in 2016. Write it down and decide honestly how long you can devote to training and make a plan. Or indeed…
Now’ the time to reflect on the good and not so good in 2015. Decide on your 2016 goals, and train accordingly. Or better still get a coach who can navigate you through the process.
Great result for coached riders in last nights Hillingdon crits. Anthony Jarrett won the 3/4 race his first road win and improving Rory Mackay finished in 12th place in a bunch finish. Well done gentlemen superb riding
Brilliant event and the quality of the field was simply amazing. With the likes of Andrew Hutchinson multi Time Trial UK champion and David Millar ex-pro. These boys went round in a tad under 25mph on a Brompton! Me, was a more sedate 17.4. A bit disappointing as would have liked to crack the 20mph…
I’m pleased to say, I’ve recently qualified as a British Cycling Level 3 track cycling coach. This involved a great deal of work over the last 6 months but it’s been really worth it. The staff at BC were so helpful and encouraging and are a pleasure to work with. My big thanks goes to…
Cracking ride by coached rider Rob Hunter in yesterday’s (Sunday 14 June) in the above event. Rob, rode the 40k aspect of the team event, was passed by no one and scorched around the course in one of the fastest times. Excellent ride, and all to his hard work.
