Jon Page

When Jon, first came round my house, it’s not too unkind to say he was tad porky and didn’t seem the type of guy to become a good cyclist. How wrong I was. He’s lost shed loads of weight and become faster and faster. Taking up racing he packs a very useful sprint and I can only see him from going from strength to strength. Today I went for a ride with him, and although giving him over 30 years normally I can keep up a good pace, I was gasping up most hills. With my HR nearly touching maximum. Ouch! http://www.strava.com/activities/126233433

What a transformation, well done Jon I’m really impressed and glad to see my coaching program has brought such impressive dividends.

    Cycling Cafe’s

There has been a great deal of information lately in Cycling Weekly about Cycling Cafe’s. Glad to say we have one of the best nestling in a lovely village of Redbourne, just north of St Albans. The Hub http://www.redbourn.org.uk/Redbourn/TheHub. Run by a cyclist, the coffee is delicious and home made cakes something to die for,…

    Phil Skinner

I’ve been coaching Phil now for several seasons and this year his results have blown me away on how far he has come. In a recent Sportif in the Home Counties, Phil came second overall – Gold Standard and averaged 18.5mph, superb result, well down Phil. And all this on a proper structured training program dovetailed…

    Ice

there is nothing to make you more nervous than the slippery stuff – ice. It was in abundance today. I was putting out and checking some signage for my clubs reliability trial this morning. On the short ride out, I encountered lots of ice and the black version as well. For about a mile I had…
