I wanted to get back to my form of 2006. Since then in 2008 I’ve had open heart surgery so I faced a year of uncertainty. With Tom’s guidance he delivered a program based around my busy life and the results started coming.
My form this season peaked with a 55.00 minute 25 and several 22 minute 10’s and I even surprised myself by going under 2 hours for a 50. I clinched the Westerley time trial championship and several other trophies to complete a superb season.
Tom diligently provided weekly training forms and our 2 way dialogue gave me great confidence as I believed in what I was doing. I have definitely exceeded my goals this season and very impressed by Tom’s dedication and willingness to provide personalised support. I look forward to continuing to work with him for next season."

Working with Tom helped me achieve some super time this year in time trials. He managed to devise a training program around my work and family commitments which has paid real dividends.
You always know you are getting advice based on the latest thinking in coaching strategies, as he is never held back by wishing to experiment and develop his riders. I always feel fired up ready for the challenge by speaking to Tom

Ian McNally: I needed to get training like a time triallist and in the Westerley Cycling Club we have none better than Coach Tom Newman.Tom came up with monthly plans to help me on my quest which was really helpful it was very eye opening as well, as I thought to be that quick you had to put in some serious training not that I didn’t do it but it was nice to know that I didn’t have to spend every day training in reality I was only training about 6 hr a week and that was including racing as well. I’ve achieved personal bests in both 10 and 25 mile time trials this season and itching for 2011 to start.
